KNAPPOGUE CASTLE WHISKEY APPOINTS NEW UK AND IRISH DISTRIBUTER

UK and Irish based drinks distributer When We Are Giants, have announced that they have expanded their spirits portfolio, to include the Knappogue Castle Irish Whiskey range.

The company will now be responsible for distributing the Irish whisky range, which is comprised of their 12 , 14 and 16 Year Old Single Malt expressions, throughout the UK and Ireland, with immediate effect.

Knappogue Castle 12 Year Old (40% ABV) matured in bourbon casks - Knappogue Castle Twin Wood 14 Year Old (40% ABV) matured in bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks - Knappogue Castle Twin Wood 16 Year Old (40% ABV) matured in bourbon casks and finished in Oloroso sherry casks.

Knappogue Castle Single Malt Irish Whiskey is named for the castle that inspired it, but the word itself has a meaning of its own Knappogue (pronounced Nah' Pogue) translates to "hill of the kiss" in Gaelic. The whiskey brand itself is famous worldwide because of the Knappogue Castle 1951 expression, revered by connoisseurs as the oldest and rarest Irish whiskey in the world.

Knappogue Castle 12, 14 and 16 Year Old, will be available across the UK and Ireland, for the respective RRP's of £47,00, £73,00 and £86,00.

CHIVAS ANNOUNCED AS THE OFFICIAL SPIRITS PARTNER OF MANCHESTER UNITED

Pernod Ricard, has today announced that its Chivas blended Scotch whisky brand, will be the official spirits partner of Manchester United football club, as part of a three-year deal.

The collaboration will see Chivas and Manchester United join forces to celebrate their collective belief that blended is better in life, football and Scotch.

The partnership was revealed to fans in advance of the Club’s first Premier League home game of the 2018/19 season on Friday 10th August, through a film that explores the unique blend of characteristics that make up the Manchester United team.

Filmed in Los Angeles during the Club’s pre-season tour, the film stars an array of Manchester United first team players revealing an often unseen side to them, showing what defines who they are, both on and off the pitch.

Throughout the season, Chivas will be collaborating with Manchester United to demonstrate that blended is better – by encouraging fans to celebrate the blend that makes them unique, and showing that when players collaborate with their teammates they can achieve the greatest success.

OLD FITZGERALD LAUNCHES ITS SECOND BOTTLED-IN-BOND BOTTLING

Heaven Hill Distillery, has announced the launch of the second edition of its Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Kentucky Straight Bourbon.

Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond – Autumn 2018 Edition (50% ABV) has been aged for 9 years, in barrels which were laid down to mature October of 2008.

This latest release in the Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Series, has met the strict requirements of a bottled-in-bond bottling, being the product of a single distillery from a single distilling season, aged for a minimum of four years and bottled at 100 Proof.

The Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond Series, is said to reflect the traditions of both the Old Fitzgerald lineage and the bottled-in-bond designation, and will see a new release added during each spring and autumn for the next five years.

Commenting on the launch of the series earlier this year, Denny Potter, Heaven Hill Master Distiller, said: “For 82 years Heaven Hill Distillery has nurtured and produced historic brands of quality and heritage. It is an honour to join a famous line of distillers behind the Old Fitzgerald name and to continue to uphold the tradition of the brand through its bottled-in-bond designation, which dates to the early 1900s”.

Old Fitzgerald Bottled-in-Bond – Autumn 2018 Edition, will be available later this year, in limited quantities across the US, for a RRP of $90.00.
