The County Antrim based Bushmills Distillery, has announced the release of its oldest expression to date, which has been launched as part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of Dubai Duty Free.
Bushmills 44 Year Old (48% ABV) is an Irish single malt whiskey, which was distilled in December 1978, and matured in Oloroso Sherry casks from the from Antonio Paez Lobato Cooperage in Spain.

Reflecting the shared commitment to excellence between The Old Bushmills Distillery and Dubai Duty Free on its 40th anniversary, this extremely limited edition will be available exclusively for purchase from Dubai Duty Free.
Bushmills 44 Year Old, is said to deliver notes of rich dried fruit, honeyed malt and warm spice on the nose. Followed by notes of velvety chocolate, liquorice, cinnamon, plums, cherries, sweet raisins, figs, toasted almond and walnuts on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Alex Thomas, Master Blender at Bushmills, said: “To be Master Blender is a profound honour but to be the Master Blender to release such an exquisite and rare 44 Year Old Single Malt for Bushmills is what dreams are made of”.
She went onto say: “The craftmanship and quality of the casks from Antonio Paez Lobato Cooperage, and the dedication to perfection of Bushmills spirit, have stood the test of time in the maturation of this outstanding single malt through over four decades resulting in an outstanding union of oak, sherry and spirit to create a once in a lifetime delight for the senses”.
Limited to 40 bottles, Bushmills 44 Year Old will be available later this month exclusively from Dubai Duty Free, for a RRP of at $12,000.
