The County Antrim based Bushmills Distillery, has today announced the launch of a new 15 Year Old Irish single malt whiskey expression, available exclusively in the UK.
Bushmills 15 Year Old (40% ABV) was initially matured in a
combination of first and second-fill Bourbon barrels for at least fourteen years,
before being finished in Cognac casks for 12 months.

This latest release which is said to epitomise Bushmills’s thirst for the uncommon and unwavering commitment to never standing still, delivers notes of toasted oak and soft spice on the nose, followed by notes of warm vanilla and caramelised pear on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Alex Thomas, Bushmills Master Blender,
said: “We’ve approached this 15 Year Old in a really experimental way, using
whiskey aged only in bourbon barrels to give a wonderful vanilla sweetness.
Then we’ve layered on complex fruity notes from the finest oak casks sourced
from the ancient forests of central France and used to age rare cognac by a
small family-run cognac maker. For several years, the cognac soaks deep into
the fine-grain of these luxurious casks before they’re ready to be emptied and
sent to us at the Old Bushmills Distillery. It’s a lavish and really exciting
process!”
Bushmills 15 Year Old, will be available later this month
from Amazon, ahead of rolling out to specialist retailers in the UK, for a RRP of
£49.00.
