OLD FORESTER LAUNCHES SCOTCH WHISKY FINISHED BOURBON BOTTLING

Brown-Forman, has announced the launch of the latest 117 Series bottling, from its Kentucky based Old Forester brand, which is said to honour George Garvin Brown's Scottish heritage.

Old Forester 117 Series – Scotch Cask Finish (46.5% ABV) has been produced using the brands 1910 Kentucky straight Bourbon, which was finished in Scotch whisky casks.

This latest limited-edition which celebrates the Gaelic roots of whisky innovator and co-founder of Brown-Forman, George Garvin Brown, was finished in Sherry and wine seasoned Speyside Scotch whisky casks.

Old Forester 117 Series – Scotch Cask Finish, is said to deliver notes of smoky char, milk chocolate drizzled over shortbread and mulled, spiced fruit on the nose, followed by notes of baked apples, dried fruits, toffee, cinnamon, chocolate, toasted almonds and smoky char on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Melissa Rift, Old Forester Master Taster, said: "This release is special to the family history our brand was built on. We've been creating top-quality, rare and innovative expressions for 150 years, and this scotch whiskey captures our founder's spirit in another rich and smooth liquid, which I recommend serving neat."

Old Forester 117 Series – Scotch Cask Finish, is now available directly from the distillery store and selected retailers in Kentucky, for a RRP of $59.99.
