The Highland based Tullibardine Distillery, has today announced the launch of the latest expression from its limited-edition Marquess Collection.

The Marquess Collection, launched by the distillery in 2016, is a nod to famous historical figures who bore the Marquess of Tullibardine title in Scotland for centuries, and the rich history of the Tullibardine region.

The Murray name derives from the 2nd Marquess of Tullibardine, Sir William Murray, who fought for the Jacobites at the Battle of Sheriffmuir on the Ochil hills above the Tullibardine distillery.

This latest release, is said to deliver notes of blackberries, blackcurrants, plums, stewed fruits, figs, vanilla, caramel and oak on the nose, followed by notes of spice and fruit cocktail on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Mike Elliott, General Manager at Tullibardine Distillery, said: “We have a feeling this cask finish is going to be very popular with historic Tullibardine customers, given the success of the 2019 version. Our liquid stands up well to bold finishes, retaining key characteristics while enriching it with a plethora of complexities, and this finish is no different.”

Limited to 15,720 bottles, Tullibardine – The Murray Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cask, is now available from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £70.00.
