Lagavulin launches its latest Nick Offerman release |
Inspired by Nick Offerman’s deep-seated affinity for maritime adventure, this latest release is said to combine tasting notes from the Caribbean - a region close to Nick's heart, with the flavours of the southernmost part of Islay in Western Scotland, home of the Lagavulin distillery.
Lagavulin Offerman Edition - Caribbean Rum Cask Finish, is
said to deliver notes of smouldering embers, chili pepper, charred citrus peel,
freshly baked crème brûlée, lemon cake and maritime brine on the nose. Followed
by notes of bonfire smoke, black pepper, lemon, lime, vanilla and a contrasting
sweet saltiness on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Nick Offerman, said: "Laboring
together with Lagavulin blending master Stuart Morrison, we have landed upon
our most delicious, exotic liquid yet. Now to silence the scandal-mongers.
There have been many accusations levelled against me regarding my desire to
concoct the perfect dram to sit and sip whilst viewing my favourite mermaid
musicals, so that I might feel even more fully like a Scottish-Caribbean
underwater siren-princess. To these scurrilous abusers I have only this to say:
what I do in my own time, whether under the sea or above it, is nobody's
business but my own. Slàinte mhath."
Lagavulin Offerman Edition - Caribbean Rum Cask Finish, is
now available from malts.com for a RRP of £90.00.
