ARDGOWAN LAUNCHES ITS FINAL CLYDEBUILT BOTTLINGS

The Inverclyde-based Ardgowan Distillery, has today announced the launch of the final two releases from its Clydebuilt Series.

Clydebuilt Anchorsmith (46% ABV) and Clydebuilt Draughtsman (46% ABV) are blended Scotch whiskies, which pay homage to the rich maritime heritage of the Clyde shipyards, embodying the same dedication to quality and craftsmanship that made 'Clydebuilt' synonymous with excellence.

Ardgowan launches its final Clydebuilt bottlings

Clydebuilt Anchorsmith, is comprised of six distinct first-fill Oloroso Sherry cask matured whiskies, which were handpicked by Master Whisky Maker Max McFarlane.

Clydebuilt Draughtsman, is comprised of a small parcel of Ardgowan's oldest hand selected casks - including a 25 year old malt, along with a selection of distinctive eight year old malts matured in first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks.

Commenting on the whiskies, Max McFarlane, said: “Anchorsmith is a truly exceptional blend, offering a unique sensory experience with its well-balanced nose of black cherries, lemon drizzle cake and chocolate raisins.  On the palate, expect a full-bodied symphony of ripe dark fruits, roast chestnuts, and pomegranate juice, leading to a long, lightly tannic finish with hints of earl grey tea and orange marmalade. Draughtsman consists of malt whiskies sourced from eight distilleries across Scotland, marrying a 25-year-old malt whisky with a handpicked selection of first fill oloroso matured malts, resulting in our most intense and complex whisky to date. Dive into a nose of Ceylon tea, manuka honey, and dark chocolate, leading to a palate bursting with flavours of juicy blackcurrant jam, all spice, and dark red fruits. The finish is a crescendo, starting slow and building to an explosive finale.”

Clydebuilt Anchorsmith and Clydebuilt Draughtsman, are now available from select specialist retailers, for a RRP of £52.99 each.

NC’NEAN LAUNCHES ITS LATEST LIMITED EDITION RELEASE

Scotland’s leading organic whisky distillery Nc’nean, has today announced the launch of the latest release from its limited-edition Huntress Series.

Nc'nean Huntress - Orchard Cobbler (48.5% ABV) which has been described as "their most innovative whisky to date” is a single malt Scotch whisky, which was matured in a combination of STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) ex-Red wine casks (66%), ex-American whiskey barrels (31%) and Olorose Sherry casks (3%).

Nc'nean Huntress - Orchard Cobbler

This latest release from the annual series, is inspired by their namesake - Gaelic goddess Neachneohain, who was known as a huntress and for walking her own path. This series is centred around that ethos of discovery, and Nc’nean’s passion for hunting for unique flavours in whisky making.

Nc’nean is widely recognised for pushing the boundaries of conventional Scotch. Unlike most distilleries, they run two different spirit runs each year, one for whisky set to be released at a younger age, and one set to be released after ten plus years.

The spirit matured for Huntress Orchard Cobbler comes from the distillation in the week after this spirit recipe is switched over – a time where cut points are changed and unusually high fruity compounds flood into the spirit. So fruity, that the whisky is named after one of the team’s favourite desserts.

Limited to 6,100 bottles, Nc’nean Huntress - Orchard Cobbler, will be available from specialist retailers, from April 23rd, for a RRP of £88.95.
