BALCONES OFFICIALLY OPENS THE DOORS TO ITS NEW DISTILLERY

Texas based, Balcones Distilling, has today announced that it’s opening the doors of its new distillery to the public.

Following nearly two years of construction, the multi-award winning spirit brand is officially opening the doors to its new home, at the recently revived Texas Fireproof Storage building, in downtown Waco.

Balcones Head Distiller Jared Himstedt

Earlier this year, the company moved its operations to new distillery. The new location provides Balcones with the capacity to keep up with demand and dedicate more production to experimentation.

The new site also provides Balcones Head Distiller Jared Himstedt and his team the flexibility to create new styles of Texas whiskies and spirits. Brand-new copper pot stills from Forsyths of Scotland are a standout feature at the nearly 100-year-old structure of steel, concrete and brick.

Additionally, Balcones now has four times the spirit still capacity in the new location, with room to grow. The Waco distiller celebrated the end of commissioning of the building on April 20th in a special ribbon cutting ceremony and production has already begun in the expanded facility.

Commenting on the news, Jared Himstedt, said: "We are thrilled to open our doors to our fans and community. We are finally moved in and producing in our new home and we're excited to welcome folks to come see us."

On 12th November, Balcones hosted over 500 people for a sneak peek of the new distillery and a day of community, celebration, and whisky tastings. Tickets for the event sold out within minutes. Now, reservations can be made on the Balcones website for tours open to the public.
