JOHNNIE WALKER ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF NEW TRAVEL RETAIL EXCLUSIVE EXPRESSION

Diageo has announced the launch of a new travel retail exclusive bottling from its Johnnie Walker blended Scotch whisky brand.

Johnnie Walker ‘Island Green’ (43% ABV) is said to capture the distinctive style of malts from the four main whisky regions of Scotland, with added prominence given to island malts. Showcasing the same blended malt craftsmanship as its critically-acclaimed Johnnie Walker ‘Green Label’.

As the first blended malt, travel retail exclusive from Johnnie Walker, Diageo is hoping this latest release will transform the Scotch category, helping consumers explore malts through a trusted and well-known brand.

Commenting on the launch, Jim Beveridge, Johnnie Walker Master Blender, said: “As whisky makers, we’re passionate about flavour, and creating this exclusive travel retail variant of our blended malt whisky has given us an opportunity to showcase a rare blend of rich malts. We wanted to preserve the character of each of the malts in this whisky but at the same time create a different, more intense flavour experience for travellers.”

Johnnie Walker ‘Island Green’ Blended Malt, will be available globally through travel retail from July for a RRP of $60.00.

ROYAL YACHT BRITANNIA LAUNCHES LIMITED EDITION SINGLE MALT TO CELEBRATE 18 YEARS IN EDINBURGH

The Royal Yacht Britannia has announced the launch of a very limited 18 bottle release Highland single malt Scotch whisky, to mark the 18th anniversary of Britannia’s arrival in Edinburgh, in 1998. 

Each bottle of HMY Britannia Highland Single Malt (40% ABV) comes presented in a solid mahogany case, and is individually numbered and signed by the Chairman of The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust, Rear Admiral Neil Rankin CBE.

HMY Britannia Highland Single Malt, is said to deliver floral and citrus notes to the nose, followed by notes of bananas and barley on the palate.

On May 5th 1998, The Royal Yacht Britannia arrived in Edinburgh to berth at her new home at the historic port of Leith. In the 18 years that have followed, Britannia has become the leading tourist attraction in Scotland, with nearly five million visitors having enjoyed the opportunity to visit and learn about HM The Queen’s former floating palace.

BELL'S WHISKY LAUNCHES COMMEMORATIVE DECANTER FOR QUEENS 90TH BIRTHDAY YEAR

Diageo has announced the launch a limited edition Bell’s ‘Royal Birthday Decanter’ to celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday year.

Bell’s Royal Birthday Decanter (40% ABV) contains Bell’s standard blended whisky, which has been filled into a decanter which adopts a sleek, fresh look and includes a royal blue sash complete with a gold pin, made from genuine gold leaf, of the brand’s founding father Arthur Bell, along with an image of The Queen.

Limited to 1,000, the decanters have been produced by Wade, a market leader in the production of high-quality ceramic products.

Commenting on the launch, Lauren Wahlhaus, Bell’s Brand Manager, said: “As the nation comes together to celebrate The Queen’s 90th Birthday, Bell’s is honoured to show its admiration and respect to our nation’s longest reigning monarch by creating an exclusive, limited edition ‘Royal Birthday Decanter’. With only a small number produced and a strong cohort of existing collectors eagerly awaiting this release we expect it to be a highly sought after item.”

The Bell’s Royal Birthday Decanter, will be available from the 16th of May, from specialist retailers for a RRP of £80.00.
