Ian Macleod Distillers, has today announced the launch of the third Quercus Alba Distinction release, from its Speyside based Tamdhu Distillery.
Tamdhu Quercus Alba Distinction III (48% ABV) is a non-age-stated

oak casks.

The Quercus Alba Distinction series has a unique journey that all three limited-editions have followed. Their story begins in the oak forests of North America before being imported into Spain, where these casks are carefully crafted in the ‘Sherry triangle’ over the course of six years.
The staves are left to air dry in the Mediterranean sun
before being assembled and toasted by experienced coopers. Finally, the Oloroso
sherry seasoning takes place before the casks final long journey to the Tamdhu
Distillery.
Tamdhu Quercus Alba Distinction III, is said to deliver
notes of shortbread dipped in vanilla cream, with sharp citrus and peppermint
flavours on the palate. Followed by notes of rich soft oak, plums, chocolate
limes, dried cherries and hints of honeycomb on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Sandy McIntyre, Tamdhu Distillery
Manager, said: “This series truly celebrates the very best in American Oak
Oloroso Sherry casks and we’re excited to release the third expression in this
collection.”
Tamdhu Quercus Alba Distinction III, will be available later
this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £70.00.
