GLENALLACHIE LAUNCHES ITS LATEST 21 YEAR OLD CASK STRENGTH BOTTLING

The GlenAllachie Distillery, has announced the launch of its latest batch of 21 Year Old cask strength, single malt Scotch whisky.

The GlenAllachie 21 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 4 (51.1% ABV) has been produced by marrying together whisky that has been matured in three vintage Pedro Ximénez Sherry puncheons.

Each cask was selected and blended by Master Distiller Billy Walker, from the distillery’s inventory of over 50,000 casks held on-site. The Spanish Sherry casks have imparted bold and complex flavour attributes, joining the distinctive heather honey character of The GlenAllachie’s house style.

The GlenAllachie 21 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 4, is said to deliver notes of clementine zest, raisins, honeycomb, cocoa, fruit cake and caramelised brown sugar on the nose. Followed by notes of baking spices, rich chocolate, heather honey, treacle, orchard fruits, black cherries and sweetened espresso on the palate.

The launches follow last week’s announcement of the distillery’s new peated single malt brand, Meikle Tòir, which comprises four expressions, each aged for five years: The Original, The Sherry One, The Chinquapin One and The Turbo.

Limited to 2,000 bottles, The GlenAllachie 21 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 4, will be available later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £306.
