The Fife based InchDairnie Distillery, has today announced
the launch of its inaugural whisky.
InchDairnie RyeLaw (46.3% ABV) is a single grain Scotch
whisky, which produced using Scottish grown malted barley and rye, and matured in charred new American oak casks, created from trees
in the Ozark Mountains.

This 2017 vintage release from InchDairnie, is the result of years of meticulous planning by distillery founder Ian Palmer, and produced using innovative materials, methods and maturation practices.
InchDairnie RyeLaw, was produced using a finely ground mashbill
of 53% malted rye and 47% malted barley, and double distilled in pot stills –
the first with rare, double condensers and the second a bespoke Lomond Hill
still, designed by Ian Palmer alongside stillmaker Frilli.
This inaugural release, which was fermented using a
rye-specific yeast, which results in lower yields, but higher flavour, is said
to deliver notes of rye spice, mellow oak and vanilla on the nose, followed by
notes of pepper, sweet biscuits and dried fruits on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Ian Palmer, InchDairnie Distillery
Managing Director, said: “We’ve been preparing for this day for well over a
decade, and it is only now that we feel the quality of RyeLaw meets our
exacting standards that we are putting it into bottles. And what a whisky it is... While we are rooted in Scotch whisky
tradition, we have explored what is possible when agriculture meets industry
and innovative technologies combine with methodology, to create a superb rye
whisky that is sure to excite palates.”
InchDairnie RyeLaw, is now available from selected specialist retailers,
for a RRP of £110.00.
