Honouring Mr George Urquhart, a member of the second generation of the company’s owning family and the man who helped bring single malt whisky to the world, this latest bottling is Gordon & MacPhail’s last ever cask from 1959.

Gordon & MacPhail - Mr George Legacy 1959 from Glen Grant Distillery, is said to deliver notes of autumnal spices, dried fruit and demerara sugar on the nose, followed by notes of stewed red fruit, Seville orange, mint, raspberry, cocoa powder and mature oak on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Stuart Urquhart, grandson of Mr George and Gordon & MacPhail’s Operations Director, said: “Ninety years ago, my grandfather, Mr George, joined Gordon & MacPhail as an apprentice to his father, John, and his philosophy and principles live on through the business today. Mr George’s attention to detail and unwavering commitment to quality remain the foundation stones of our business, along with a forward-looking approach and refusal to bow to convention. This greatly aged single malt whisky is a fitting tribute to this ethos.”

Limited to 368 bottles, Gordon & MacPhail - Mr George Legacy 1959 from Glen Grant Distillery, will be available later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £6,499.
