Inspired by the intense, fruity wines which emerge from the Pommard appellation in Burgundy, this latest release is the result of one of Glenmorangie’s first experiments with the prestigious red wine casks.

Glenmorangie Pommard Cask Finish, is said to deliver notes of lemon sherbet, orange blossom honey, baked red apples, plums, cherries and spearmint on the nose. Followed by notes of ripe red apples, syrupy-sweet honeydew melon, crystallized ginger, chocolate-coated raisins and a touch of cappuccino coffee on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Dr Bill Lumsden, Director of Whisky Creation at Glenmorangie, said: “The red wines of Pommard are among my very favourite wines in the world. And hoping to bring their classic, fruity red burgundy notes to Glenmorangie, I first started experimenting with Pommard wine casks around 2008. Created from a small number of casks, and with just 1,000 bottles available, Glenmorangie Pommard Cask Finish is truly one of the most fabulous and delicious wine-cask finishes ever to emerge from Glenmorangie."

Glenmorangie Pommard Cask Finish, will be available later this month exclusively from The Glenmorangie Boutique at Heathrow Airport Terminal 2, ahead of rolling out at other select travel retail outlets. RRP: £2,100.
