Diageo, has today announced the launch of its 2023 Lagavulin
and Caol Ila Fèis Ìle (Islay Festival) limited-editions.
To celebrate the annual festival, the teams at the Islay based
Lagavulin and Caol Ila distilleries, have each selected a bottling which is said
to reflect their history and highlight their unique characters.
2023 Lagavulin and Caol Ila Féis Íle limied editions
Lagavulin Fèis Ìle 2023 (58.4% ABV) is a 14 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky, which was initially matured in a combination of American and European Oak casks, before being finished Armagnac casks. RRP: £220.00.
Commenting on the Lagavulin release, Jordan Paisley,
Lagavulin Distillery Manager said: “Lagavulin Fèis Ìle is always a celebration
for us all on Islay and as we come together to share a dram this year’s release
is no different. This combination of casks is a special nod to our team near
and far as we continue to surprise our fans with unexpected flavours and twists
on their favourite whisky.”
Caol Ila Fèis Ìle 2023 (60.4% ABV) is a 13 Year Old single
malt Scotch whisky, which was matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso
Sherry seasoned butts. RRP: £185.00.
Commenting on the Caol Ila release, Sam Hale, Caol Ila
Distillery Manager said: “Fèis Ìle is always a remarkable time for us and we’re
so excited to host it for the first time in our new visitor experience. This
bottling is a special one for the team and we’re looking forward to raising a
glass together with our fans”.
Each of the Fèis Ìle 2023 limited-editions, will be available
to purchase from each distillery on their respective days during the festival. Lagavulin:
May 27th and Caol Ila: May 29th.
