Headed up by Vince Oleson, previously from the Widow Jane Distillery in Brooklyn, the team at Bankhall have re-imagined the traditional whisky process in the UK, drawing inspiration and ingenuity from the US.
Bankhall Rebellion Sweet Mash, is said to deliver notes of kettle
corn and orange glaze on the nose, followed by notes of crème caramel, vanilla
custard and charred oak on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Vince Oleson, Master Distiller at Bankhall
Distillery, said: “There are very few distilleries producing sweet mash outside
of the US, so having the opportunity to take on production at the site here in
Blackpool is awesome. With the sweet mash, you get to start every batch fresh,
with a clean profile which you can then really bring to life. We’ve been able
to have a lot of fun and really experiment with the process. As a result,
Rebellion is booming with personality, and we’re super proud of the bold and
balanced profile we’ve been able to capture. We’re hoping everyone likes it as
much as we do!”.
Bankhall Rebellion Sweet Mash, will be available later this
month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £30.00.
