Walsh Whiskey, has today announced the launch of its 10th Writers’ Tears Cask Strength bottling.
Writers’ Tears Cask Strength 2020 (54.5% ABV) is a triple
distilled blend of single pot still and single malt Irish whiskeys, which were
matured in bourbon barrels.

Writers’ Tears Cask Strength 2020, is said to deliver notes of ginger, pepper and butterscotch on the nose, followed by notes of toasted oak, biscuit, vanilla and dark chocolate.
This latest release from the County Carlow based company,
comes presented in the brands new designed bottle and packaging, which was
unveiled earlier this week.
Commenting on the launch, Walsh Whiskey Co-Founder, Bernard
Walsh, said: “This is a particularly special release. The annual Cask Strength
vintage of Writers’ Tears represents the most exclusive expression in the range
and this year sees the first ever changes to the bottle, labelling and uniquely
styled packaging since the expression was launched in 2011.”
He went onto say: “The new design for our limited cask
editions have their own unique label design to allow for more detail about
these special whiskeys. Of course the label on the bottle-neck carries the
technical detail of each whiskey including the whiskey, cask and still types;
the batch and bottle number.”
Limited to 3,000 bottles, Writers’ Tears Cask Strength 2020,
will be available later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of €140.00.
