Scotch whisky specialist Douglas Laing & Co, has today announced the launch of a new limited-edition expression, as part of its Timorous Beastie brand.

This latest Timorous Beastie expression, which will join the brands Classic NAS and 10 Year Old small batch bottlings, is said to deliver notes of marshmallow, juicy barley and soft spices on the nose. Followed by notes of honey, buttered bread and sweet malt on the palate.

Commenting on the news, Cara Laing, Director of Whisky at Douglas Laing & Co, said: “It feels particularly fitting to launch this special bottling of Timorous Beastie in January, the month in which we’ll celebrate Burns Night in honour of our national bard. Proudly bottled at natural cask strength, this feisty special edition bursts with barley, sugary marshmallow and citrus notes, and unlike its namesake, Burns’ timid field-mouse, it’s certainly not for the faint-hearted!"

Timorous Beastie 12 Year Old at Cask Strength, will be available later this month from specialist retailers across Europe and Asia, for a RRP of £59.99.
