Maker’s Mark Private Select – America and Australia Release (55.6% ABV) has been aged in barrels using 2 seared French cuvee, 4 roasted French mocha and 4 toasted French spice staves. Which is said to have resulted in heavy caramel and gentle spice on the nose, and a palate which is rich and creamy.

Maker’s Mark Private Select - New Zealand Release (55.6% ABV) has been aged in barrels using 3 baked American pure, 3 seared French cuvee, 1 roasted French mocha and 3 Toasted French Spice staves. Which is said to have resulted in a sweet vanilla and caramel nose, and a palate which is forward tasting with notes of honey and cinnamon.

Mirroring the process used by Chairman Emeritus Bill Samuels Jr. when he created Maker’s 46 in 2010, Maker’s Mark Private Select is matured for an additional 9 weeks in these unique casks before being bottled, corked and dipped with details such as proof and stave combinations, handwritten on the label.

Commenting on the launch, Michael Cockram, Marketing Director Global Travel Retail, Beam Suntory, said: “We are proud to launch such an interesting and innovative bourbon in travel retail. Beam Suntory Global Travel Retail continues to push the boundaries of the category, offering consumers unusual and exciting releases. Maker’s Mark Private Select gives consumers a new understanding of the complexities of creating a unique tasting bourbon that wanders in intriguing ways from the traditional taste profile, while still being distinctively Maker’s Mark”.

The two Maker’s Mark Private Select bottlings, will be available later this month through global travel retail. RRP’s tbc.
