XOP Craigellachie 1995 Vintage (52.3% ABV) - Old Particular Bunnahabhain 2007 Vintage (54.4% ABV) - Old Particular Glengoyne 2007 Vintage (52.5% ABV).
Douglas Laing & Co launch three new Asia exclusives |
All three vintages were specially selected as both 1995 and 2007, as these were previous Years of the Pig within the Chinese Zodiac calendar. They have all been bottled at natural cask strength and without colouring or chill-filtration.
The XOP Craigellachie 1995 Vintage, is said to have a rich mocha, cocoa character with candied peels, allspice and stewed red fruits. The Old Particular Bunnahabhain 2007 Vintage, is said to reveal the archetypical Islay style of sweet peat alongside honeycomb, a coastal influence and citrus fruits. The Old Particular Glengoyne 2007 Vintage, is said to show milk chocolate and honeyed barley with a spiced warmth at its core.
Commenting on the launch, Fred Laing, Managing Director of Douglas Laing & Co, said: “Despite numerous visits to the Far East since the early 1970’s, I have never been there during Chinese New Year, so to participate in this fashion with these rare bottlings, each so full of Eastern promise, is wonderful and we’re thrilled to commemorate this iconic cultural moment. We hope our friends in Asia enjoy celebrating New Year with these Whiskies.”
XOP Craigellachie 1995 Vintage, Old Particular Bunnahabhain 2007 Vintage and Old Particular Glengoyne 2007 Vintage, will be available later this month from specialist retailers in Asia. RRP’s tbc.
