GLENCADAM LAUNCHES TWO NEW LIMITED EDITION RELEASES

Angus Dundee Distillers, has announced the launch of two new limited-edition cask finish releases, from its Highland based Glencadam Distillery.

Glencadam 15 Year Old Reserva de Madeira (46% ABV) and Glencadam 17 Year Old Reserva PX (46% ABV) are single malt Scotch whiskies, which were both initially matured in American oak ex-Bourbon casks, before being finished in their respective casks.

Glencadam launches two new limited edition releases

Glencadam 15 Year Old Reserva de Madeira, which was finished in Madeira wine casks sourced from Portugal’s Madeira Islands, is said to deliver notes of butterscotch, ginger biscuits, caramelised pecans, dried pineapple and baking spices on the nose. Followed by notes of peach cobbler, golden syrup, crème caramel, toasted walnuts, praline and candied peels on the palate.

Glencadam 17 Year Old Reserva PX, which was finished in Pedro Ximénez Sherry quarter casks from Andalucía, Spain, is said to deliver notes of sticky toffee pudding, black cherries, salted caramel, maple syrup, dark berries and cocoa powder on the nose. Followed by notes of Black Forest gateaux, blackcurrant, liquorice, cappuccino, crème caramel, dates, prunes and sweet spices on the palate.

These latest releases join Glencadem’s multi-award-winning range of whiskies, which includes its American Oak Reserve, Reserva Andalucía, 10 Year Old, 13 Year Old, 15 Year Old, 18 Year Old and 25 Year Old expressions.

Established in 1825, Glencadam Distillery was mothballed for several years before it was purchased by Angus Dundee Distillers in 2003.

Glencadam 15 Year Old Reserva de Madeira (5,826 bottles) and Glencadam 17 Year Old (4,188 bottles) are now available from specialist retailers, for the respective RRP’s of £110 and £150.
