The Benriach Distillery, has announced the US relaunch of
its 16 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky.
Benriach The Sixteen (43% ABV) which relaunched in the UK
last year, after originally being retired from the range in 2016, has been
matured in a combination of Bourbon barrels, Sherry casks and Virgin oak casks.

Relaunched with a reformulated recipe, Benriach The Sixteen, bridges the gap between their 12 and 21 Year Old core range bottlings.
The three-cask matured whisky was previously one of
Benriach’s most heavily decorated single malts, winning a host of industry
accolades including Best Speyside Single Malt at the World Whisky Awards in
2015.
The new relaunched Benriach The Sixteen, is said to deliver
notes of baked apple, creamy hazelnut malt, ginger-spiced apricot and honey on
the nose. Followed by notes of spiced stewed apple, stone fruit, nutty oak, honeyed
malt and candied peel on the palate.
Commenting on the news, Rachel Barrie, Benriach, Master
Blender, said: “The return of Benriach The Sixteen is a very special moment for
the distillery as it is one of our most treasured expressions. Our signature
Speyside style blossoms at 10 years old, finding depth and richer layers of orchard
fruit character as it turns 16. Our core flavour components of fruit, malt, and
oak become more concentrated, enriched with age at 16 years old, bringing
layers of stone fruit, smooth creamy malt, wild honey, and nutty oak spice.”

specialist retailers across the US, for a RRP of $115.00.
