Diageo, has announced the launch of its third
limited-edition Prima and Ultima Collection, which features bottlings from
Brora and Port Ellen.
The 2022 Prima and Ultima Collection, is comprised of 8 rare single malt Scotch whiskies, which this year were selected by Dr Craig Watson, one of Diageo’s Master Blenders.
Dr Craig’s experience spans more than 13
years, but more recently he has played a fundamental role in the restoration of
the Brora spirit and overseeing new releases from Port Ellen. His expertise in
nurturing and restoring the rare spirits from two of Diageo’s most magnificent
whiskies has led him to develop an unparalleled knowledge of the distilleries
and their casks.
This 2022 Prima & Ultima series bottlings, which are drawn from the first or last of their kind casks, are comprised of:
Royal Lochnagar 1981 – 40 Year-Old (52.5% ABV)
Cragganmore 1973 – 48 Year Old (44.8% ABV)
Mannochmore 1990 – 31 Year Old (45.1% ABV)
Brora 1981 – 40 Year Old (44.1% ABV)
The Singleton of Glen Ord 1987 - 34 Year Old (49.4% ABV)
Lagavulin 1993 – 28 Year Old (50.1% ABV)
Talisker 1984 – 37 Year Old (51.9% ABV)
Port Ellen 1980 – 41 Year Old (59.6% ABV)
