THE ENGLISH WHISKY CO. ANNOUNCES DEATH OF FOUNDER JAMES NELSTROP

The English Whisky Co. has today announced the very sad news of the death of its Founder, James Nelstrop. He died at home on 6th September aged 69, surrounded by his family after a brief but courageous fight with cancer.

James had had a lifelong dream to own a whisky distillery and in 2006 he made this dream a reality by building St George’s Distillery, home of English Whisky Co.

James Nelstrop - Founder of The English Whisky Co.

This was England’s first registered whisky distillery for over a century and now exports English Whisky around the world.

But what pleased James more was the opening of several other English whisky distilleries giving him a sense of achievement in being the founder of an entire national industry. Wherever he went he made close friends and enjoyed talking to young people and encouraging them to think outside the box.

A celebration of his life will be held at St. Peter & St Paul church, East Harling on 16th October 2014 at 2pm.  Family flowers only but donations may be made to RABI, Cancer Research UK, St. Nicholas Hospice via Rosedale Funeral Home, Yard House, High Street, Attleborough, Norfolk, NR17 2EH
