The Ayrshire based Lochlea Distillery, has announced that it
will be giving the public the opportunity to buy casks of its single malt
Scotch whisky.
This will be the first time that the distillery has gone
public with its Private Cask Programme, which up until now has only been
offered to private customers who joined their waiting list from 2018 onwards.

From the moment of purchase, owners can make the most of and enjoy their personal whisky journey, visiting their cask at the distillery, attending a dedicated Cask Owner’s Day, sampling their liquid as it goes from spirit to single malt whisky and being a part of the Lochlea family and award-winning brand’s journey from an early stage.
Two types of casks are available for consumers to choose
from: first-fill Bourbon barrels and first-fill Oloroso Sherry hogsheads –
depending on their preferred flavour profile. All casks are kept under bond at
the distillery for at least 10 years, after which it can then either be stored
for longer, bottled under the customer’s own personal label or sold back to the
distillery as desired.
Commenting on the news, John Campbell, Lochlea’s Production
Director said: “Our Private Cask Programme is an incredibly special chance to
be a part of our ambitious, exciting and innovative distillery and brand. As a
family-owned distillery, we want to ensure that our customers feel close to us.
Those deciding to take the step to purchase their own Lochlea cask can witness
and explore each stage of the whisky-making process, with our experienced team
by their side at every step of the journey.”
Lochlea’s Private Cask Programme is open now for a limited
period only to those looking to purchase a cask for their own exploration and
enjoyment. Those interested should contact the distillery team for more details
