The Luxco owned Ross & Squibb Distillery, has announced the launch of a new expression, from its Rossville Union Straight Rye Whiskey brand.
Rossville Union Bottled in Bond (50% ABV) is a 6 Year Old straight rye whiskey, which has been produced using a mashbill of 51% rye and 49% malted barley.

For a whiskey to be classed as Bottled in Bond, it must meet a strict set of rules that have been in place since the late 1800’s, including being the product of a single distillery from a single distilling season, aged for a minimum of four years and bottled at 100 Proof/50% ABV.
This latest release from the Lawrenceburg, Indiana-based distillery, which had its casks hand-selected by Ross & Squibb Master Distiller Ian Stirsman, is said to deliver notes of sweet malt, dark chocolate, raisin and saddle leather on the nose. Followed by notes of caramel, mocha, candied-fruit, green-apple, malted-chocolate and cinnamon on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Ian Stirsman, said: “I’m proud to continue Ross & Squibb’s tradition of creating high-quality rye whiskey that dates back to 1847. Since that time, we have worked to perfect our craft, giving our rye whiskeys unmatched character. For our Rossville Union Bottled in Bond Straight Rye Whiskey we combined our industry leading rye expertise with a new high malt mashbill to create something truly special. We then let the barrels mature for a minimum of 6 years, resulting in aromas of sweet malt, dark chocolate, raisin and saddle leather with tasting notes highlighted by caramel and mocha with a rich, candied-fruit body, followed by a slight green-apple, malted-chocolate and cinnamon finish.”
Limited in quantities, Rossville Union Bottled in Bond, will be available later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £59.00.
