This third release in the annual series from the Speyside based distillery, was produced using casks selected by Master Distiller Billy Walker, who last year celebrated his 50th Anniversary in the Scotch whisky industry.
The GlenAllachie 30 Year Old Cask Strength Batch 3, is said
to deliver notes of roasted almonds, honey, orchard fruits, worn leather, butterscotch,
orange zest and dark chocolate on the nose. Followed by notes of grape must,
hazelnut, honeycomb, citrus fruits, toffee brittle, hints of ginger, cinnamon
on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Billy Walker, said: “The
GlenAllachie team and I are thrilled to bring the next batch of our oldest core
expression to market. Bottlings of this age and quality undeniably demonstrate
the reward for patience and perseverance in whisky making. Our heather
honey-forward distillate stands up well to ageing in rich Sherry wood, and the
casks selected for this bottling certainly showcase this incredible union.”
Limited to 2,400 bottles, The GlenAllachie 30 Year Old Cask
Strength Batch 3, will be available later this month from specialist retailers,
for a RRP of £670.00.
