The Islay based Kilchoman Distillery, has announced the
launch of the 12th edition of its heavily peated (20ppm) 100% Islay single malt
Scotch whisky.
Kilchoman 100% Islay 2022 Edition (50% ABV) was distilled
from their 2009, 2010 and 2011 barley harvests, then matured in 29 Bourbon barrels
and 6 Oloroso Sherry butts for a minimum of 8 years.

Kilchoman, produces its 100% Islay single malt from barley grown in fields surrounding the distillery and completes every stage of the whisky-making process at the distillery, including traditional floor malting.
Kilchoman 100% Islay 2022 Edition, is said to deliver notes
of sweet pipe smoke, strawberries, candied lemon peel. orange blossom, soft
toffee and cloves on the nose. Followed by notes of dark chocolate, toasted
walnuts, tobacco, caramel and peat smoke on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Anthony Wills, Founder of Kilchoman
Distillery, said: “It’s a lovely 100% Islay, rich and fruity on the nose then
lots of citrus sweetness and tropical fruit on the palate with waves of peat
smoke coming through on the finish.”
Limited to 12,500 bottles, Kilchoman 100% Islay 2022 Edition,
is now available from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £74.00.
