Berry Bros & Rudd launches second series of Nordic Cask whisky bottlings

Selected by Berry Bros & Rudd Reserve Whisky Manager, Jonny McMillan, the range is said to showcase the quality led and innovative approach of the Nordic whisky region which is growing notoriety in the industry.

Berry Bros & Rudd’s second Nordic Cask whisky range, is comprised of:

2012 Single Cask Swedish Single Malt from Smӧgen (59.6% ABV)

2013 Single Cask Finnish Single Malt from Teerenpeli (59.9% ABV)

2017 Single Cask Danish Rye Whisky from Stauning (58.9% ABV)

2019 Single Cask Danish Single Malt from Thy (57.6% ABV)

Vindӧga Blended Nordic Malt Whisky (59.7% ABV)

The Vindӧga Blended Nordic Malt Whisky, which is matured in ex-Sherry casks, is a blend of whiskies from Fary Lochan (Denmark), Teerenpeli (Finland), Smögen (Sweden), High Coast (Sweden), Mosgaard (Denmark), and Myken (Norway) distilleries.

Commenting on the launch, Jonny McMillan, Reserve Whisky Manager at Berry Bros. & Rudd said: “We’ve found Nordic distillers to be deeply respectful of whisky’s rich and proud heritage. Often drawing inspiration from their projects from Scotland and Japan, they show willingness to inject their spirit of locality. Be it using local grains, indigenous materials for smoking or simply producing a distillate with a sense of place. Berry Bros. & Rudd are proud to include in this release the first cross-Nordic blended malt, Vindӧga. Blended with input from each of the distillers and our good friend Thomas Øhrbom from Whisky Saga whom we worked with to create the final vatting. We hope the release further grows the region’s collaboration and inevitable global attention.”

Berry Bros & Rudd’s second Nordic Cask whisky range will be available later this month from Berry Bros & Rudd and Abbey Whisky, RRP’s (tbc).
