Lambay Whiskey, has announced the launch of the first
expression from a new three-part limited-edition Reserve Cask Series.
Lambay Whiskey Single Malt Batch 01 (43%
ABV) was initially matured in Bourbon barrels, before being finished in a
combination of first fill and second-fill Cambus Cognac casks.

This latest release which s finished in Lambay Whiskeys signature style of French cognac casks from the House of Camus, contains a higher percentage of matured whiskey from Lambay’s bonded warehouse, which is located on its namesake island - three miles off the coast of Dublin.
Lambay Island’s own volcanic Trinity Well water was added at
the final stage of finishing before bottling, contributing to a whiskey which
is said to deliver soft smoky attributes with slight salinity and a lingering finish
that balances the rich oak and herb notes.
Commenting on the news, Sabine Sheehan, Global Brand
Ambassador for Lambay Whiskey, said: “This series is designed to push the
boundaries for our whiskey fans to taste the diversity of cask finishes we can
create in our single malts. Our first Lambay Single Malt release in 2018 was a
huge success with its floral, tropical notes and lingering sweetness attracting
a new swathe of whiskey drinkers to Lambay.”
She went onto say: “This Reserve Cask Series will challenge that
profile with three very different limited-edition cask releases. Oak, tobacco,
salt, and peat will challenge the traditional sweet, floral, and mellow profile
we had before, opening us up to new consumers that prefer those taste profiles
and wish to leverage up, on their current favourites.”
Limited to 10,000 bottles, Lambay Whiskey Single Malt Batch
01, is now available via the Lambay website for a RRP of €75.00. Batch 02 and
03, will be released over the next couple of years.
