CHIVAS BROTHERS OPENS THE DOORS TO LINN HOUSE FOR BURNS NIGHT

Chivas Brothers, has announced that it’s opening the doors of its Linn House guest house and whisky retreat, for a food and whisky experience in celebration of Burns Night, as part of its Supper Series.

Through the magic of open-flame fire dining, Ecuadorian chef and Co-Founder at Fire Made, Ana Ortiz will bring Burns Night to life in spectacular fashion, with a bespoke menu crafted to enjoy alongside cocktails and rare whiskies selected from Chivas Brothers extensive whisky library.

Set against a backdrop of music and Burns style surprises at Linn House, guests are promised a Burns Night celebration like no other and experience Ana’s twist on the traditional Burns menu.

Growing up in the Galapagos Islands, Ana Ortiz is a renowned specialist in fire cooking. For her Linn House residency, Ana will bring her rich culinary heritage to life, blending the smoky, soulful flavours of her Ecuadorian roots with the rich Scottish traditions of Burns Night.

OLD RIP VAN WINKLE LAUNCHES ITS LATEST COLLECTION OF WHISKEYS

Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery and Buffalo Trace Distillery, have today announced the return of the Van Winkle Whiskey Collection.

Renowned for its wheated recipe, the Van Winkle Collection features six distinctive whiskeys, ranging from 10 to 23 years old in age, which were produced at the Kentucky based Buffalo Trace distillery.

The wheated recipe, favoured by Julian P. “Pappy” Van Winkle, is said to result in a softer, smoother taste profile that has helped the Bourbon become among the world’s most coveted.

Old Rip Van Winkle Handmade Bourbon 10 Year Old (53.5% ABV) is said to deliver notes of rich oak spice, licorice and dark cherry on the nose, followed by notes of oak, tobacco and sweet fruit on the palate. RRP: $129.99.

Old Rip Van Winkle Special Reserve Bourbon 12 Year Old (45.2% ABV) is said to deliver notes of ripe stone fruit and chocolate on the nose, followed notes of honeyed sweetness, oak and tobacco on the palate. RRP: $149.99.

Old Rip Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye 13 Year Old (47.8% ABV) is said to deliver notes of roasted nuts, oaky vanilla and ripe fruit on the nose, followed by notes of chocolate, baking spice, caramel and oak on the palate. RRP: $199.99.

Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve Bourbon 15 Year Old (53.5% ABV) is said to deliver notes of caramel corn and vanilla on the nose, followed by notes of leather, oak and dark fruit, spice and oaky tannins on the palate. RRP: $199.99.

Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve Bourbon 20 Year Old (45.2% ABV) is said to deliver notes of warm holiday spices, caramel and chocolate on the nose, followed by notes of caramel, cinnamon sugar, spice and oak on the palate. RRP: $319.99.

Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve Bourbon 23 Year Old (47.85 ABV) is said to deliver notes of toasty caramel, soft cream, oak, nuts, and leather on the nose, followed by notes of vanilla, maple, honey, citrus and gentle spice, leather and oak on the palate. RRP: $449.99.

Commenting on the launch, Julian Van Winkle III, President, Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery, said: “There’s an incomparable feeling of joy that comes from finding a bottle of Pappy on the shelf. Limited in quantities, bottles in the latest Van Winkle Collection, will be available later this month from select retailers in the US, via a lottery.
