METHOD AND MADNESS LAUNCHES NEW OATS AND MALT EXPRESSION

Irish Distillers, has today announced the launch of a new expression from its innovative and experimental Method and Madness brand.

Method and Madness – Oats and Malt (46% ABV) is a triple distilled Irish whiskey, made using a mash bill of 60% oats and 40% malt, and matured in ex-Bourbon casks.

Created at the Midleton Micro Distillery by Distiller Katherine Condon, this latest release is said to pay tribute to the traditional malt flavours of sweet cereal, green apple and notes of lemon zest, while the inclusion of oats brings new tastes and aromas with notes of marshmallow and fudge along with a sumptuously creamy finish.

Commenting on the launch Katherine Condon, said: “Nearly a year on from the release of Method and Madness - Rye and Malt, we are extremely proud to introduce the world to the second release from our Micro Distillery in Midleton. The innovations within Irish whiskey continue to play a key role in growing the industry and it is a joy to be a part of that with the work we do at the Micro Distillery. The Oats and Malt release represents something exciting. By working with traditional malted barley in copper pot stills and combining this with Irish sourced oats, we are honouring our past while pushing forward with innovation. This is an extraordinary Irish whiskey offering that is a first for Method and Madness.”

Method and Madness – Oats and Malt, is now available in the UK, Ireland and Dublin Airport, for a RRP of €95.00.

DIAGEO LAUNCHES ITS 2022 SPECIAL RELEASES COLLECTION

Diageo, has today announced the launch of its latest annual collection of Special Releases, which this year have been dubbed the ‘Elusive Expressions’.

This year's collection is said to introduce a legendary world of rare flavours for every Scotch whisky enthusiast to enjoy - pushing the boundaries of flavour to offer more rarity, flavour and fantasy.

Hand-selected by Master Blender Dr. Craig Wilson, this year’s collection is comprised of seven single malt Scotch whiskies and one single grain Scotch whisky, which have been finished in a variety of casks, resulting in a depth of complexity and character.
