The Highlands based Glendronach Distillery, has today
announced the launch of a new collection of whiskies, that are said to capture
the breadth and depth of Sherry cask maturation.
The new Glendronach Master’s Anthology Collection, is
comprised of three non-age-statement single malts: Ode to The Valley (46.2%
ABV), Ode to The Embers (48.4% ABV) and Ode to The Dark (50.8% ABV).

Ode to The Valley, which has been matured in Ruby Port casks from the Douro valley in Portugal and Sherry casks, is said to deliver notes of ripe summer berries, chocolate de leche imbued with sweet demerara and apricot glaze on the nose. Followed by notes of blackberry and roasted apple crumble, freshly baked gingerbread and sweet damson on the palate.
Ode to the Embers, which is a peated expression matured in Oloroso
Sherry and Pedro Ximénez casks, is said to deliver notes of cinnamon spiced
toffee, apple and caramelised walnut brittle, orange and peat smoke on the nose.
Followed by notes of raisin, honeyed walnut, bramble ganache and smoked
chocolate fudge on the palate.
Ode to the Dark, which has been matured in Pedro Ximénez Sherry
casks, is said to deliver notes of mocha, black cherry, dark chocolate, créme
brûlée, raisin, brown sugar and ginger on the nose. Followed by notes of espresso,
crème caramel, black grape and mint chocolate ganache on the palate.

sherry cask maturation, reflecting the exceptional taste and deep character
that have become synonymous with The Glendronach over almost 200 years. This
collection is a journey into the heart of our distillery, where time-honoured
traditions and natural influences shape every drop of our whisky.”
The new Glendronach Master’s Anthology Collection Ode to The
Valley, Ode to The Embers and Ode to The Dark bottlings, will be available
later this month from specialist retailers, for the respective RRP’s of £67.00,
£72.00 and £77.00.
