Bowmore launches two new whisky collections as part of packaging refresh |
The new Bowmore Sherry Oak Collection, which now forms part of the brands core range, showcases the role of the very best European oak Sherry casks in shaping layers of depth and flavour. It’s comprised of four whiskies, which capture different dimensions of character:
Bowmore 12 Year Old Sherry Oak Cask (40% ABV) is said to embrace
a rhapsody of flavours to achieve a distinctively harmonious character. Sweet spice and nuttiness come to the fore,
while smouldering smokiness blends with notes of fruit and woodiness that
Sherry casks bring. RRP: £59.00.
Bowmore 15 Year Old Sherry Oak Cask (43% ABV) is said to
capture the elegance of their single malt, adding a layer of sweetness from the
selective maturation in first-fill Oloroso casks. Confidently rich, with natural smoke, and
minerality alongside a woodier, sweeter, and fruitier finish. RRP: £116.00.
Bowmore 18 Year Old Sherry Oak Cask (43% ABV) is said to be dramatically
layered, yet balanced. Sherry cask finishing first in Oloroso seasoned casks,
followed by Pedro Ximenez, adds a fresh sweetness of bright fruit notes without
overpowering the smouldering smoke. RRP: £198.00.
Bowmore 21 Year Old Sherry Oak Cask (46.9% ABV) is said to reveal
a multi-layered character. Time and carefully selected finishing first in
Oloroso seasoned casks, followed by Pedro Ximenez, encourages intensity and
complexity, but in complete harmony. RRP: £405.00.
The Bowmore Appellations Collection, which will be exclusive
to travel retail, is a collaboration with some of the world’s finest wine producing
regions.
Bowmore 14 Year Old (43% ABV) was initially matured in
American Oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before being finished in hand-selected
Bordeaux barriques. RRP: $67.00.
Bowmore 16 Year Old (43% ABV) was initially matured in American
Oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before being finished in European Oak Sherry casks.
RRP: $108.00.
Bowmore 19 Year Old (43% ABV) was initially matured in
American Oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before being finished in hand selected Pinot
Noir casks from Burgundy. RRP: $200.00.
Bowmore 22 Year Old (48% ABV) was initially matured in
American Oak ex-Bourbon barrels, before being finished in hand selected
Sauternes casks. RRP: $500.00.
Commenting on the news, Kirsteen Beeston, Marketing Director
of Bowmore, said: “We have a duty of care as custodians of this incredible
distillery to best reflect and capture the true essence of Bowmore, out of both
respect to all that has been achieved so far but equally out of a desire to
ensure we honour the spirit as we know it today. As such, we made the decision
to evolve the world which surrounds the brand, across brand creative,
experience, and innovation. This is exemplified by the upcoming launch of two
new whisky ranges: Sherry Oak Cask and Bowmore Appellations which, along with
the existing range of Bowmore whiskies, will be offered to our customers and
consumers in a new brand livery. As we look to the future, we aim to redefine
what it means to enjoy a glass of Bowmore, transforming each moment into a
captivating experience.”
The Bowmore Sherry Oak range will be available from specialist
retailers from September. The Bowmore Appellations Collection will be available
from global travel retail outlets and the Bowmore brand home on Islay from the
start of October.
