Lochlea - Fallow Edition |
Lochlea - Fallow Edition, is inspired by autumn on the farm - where after growing barley at Lochlea for the past six months, the fields are left fallow after a busy harvest. The bottle’s rich purple label also reflects the crisp purple leaves that cover the ground as temperatures begin to fall.
This latest release which follows on from Lochlea’s Sowing
Edition (First Crop) which launched in March 2022, and Harvest Edition (First Crop) which launched in September 2022, is said to deliver notes of ripe
red fruits and freshly baked banana bread on the nose, followed by notes of dried
fruits, leather and malt biscuits on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, John Campbell, Lochlea Production
Director and Master Blender, said: “When we were first planning for our core
single malt, Lochlea ‘Our Barley,’ we found some wonderful Sherry butts that
deserved to be showcased together and decided to use these to create Lochlea
‘Fallow Edition’. Lochlea ‘Fallow Edition’ is 100% matured in Oloroso Sherry
butts; bringing a rich, deep colour and a dry, fruity palate that is perfect
for the season of autumn on the farm.”
Limited to 9,000 bottles, Lochlea - Fallow Edition will be
available later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £50.00.
