Diageo, has today announced the launch of two
limited-edition bottlings to commemorate the 2022 Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival.
Normally the iconic Islay based whisky brand launches a single
annual release to celebrate the event, but this year it’s launching a pair of 7
Year Old and 14 Year Old cask strength bottlings.

Lagavulin Jazz Festival Exclusive (59.5% ABV) is a 7 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky, which has been matured in a combination of refill and ex-bourbon hogshead casks.
Lagavulin Jazz Distillery Exclusive (55.4% ABV) is a 14 Year
Old single malt Scotch whisky, which was initially matured in refill American
oak casks, before being finished in brandy casks for five years.
Commenting on the launch, Jordan Paisley, Distillery Manager
at Lagavulin, said: “The Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival has become a key moment
in the calendar ever since it began 24 years ago, and we’re all excited to
welcome visitors back to Islay for the festival once again. Crafted to
celebrate together with our fans in Islay, the 14 Year Old Distillery exclusive
is surprisingly sweet, set to excite everyone. This year, we wanted reach all
of our fans in a special way, even those unable to attend the festival. That’s
why the team has also, for the first time ever, released the 7 Year Old
Festival Bottling, an honest and pure expression of Lagavulin – chosen to carry
a piece of the Lagavulin Islay Jazz Festival to every fan’s home.”
Lagavulin Jazz Festival 2022 (limited to 2,490 bottles) will
be available from October 8th from malts.com for a RRP of £95.00. Lagavulin
Distillery Jazz 2022 (limited to 3000 bottles) is now available exclusively from
the distillery for a RRP of £220.00.
