Beam Suntory, has today announced the launch of the latest
limited-edition collaborative bottling from Bowmore and Aston Martin.
Bowmore ARC-52 (42.3% ABV) is a 52 Year Old Islay single
malt Scotch whisky, which was produced using whisky matured in a European
Sherry butt and an ex-Bourbon American oak hogshead.

This latest release is said to be the pinnacle of the partnership between the two brands, bringing together one of the oldest whiskies released by the distillery with a truly inspiring and futuristic decanter designed by the luxury car maker.
The design of the decanter which contains some of Bowmore’s
oldest whisky to be released, merges natural and man-made contours in a
provocative form, effectively balancing on two points, making it seem almost
weightless – much like each Aston Martin is imagined.
Bowmore ARC-52, is said to deliver notes of vanilla, custard
cream, peach, pear, kumquat, mandarin, guava, fresh mint and eucalyptus on the
nose. Followed by notes of green grapes, peach melba, clementine, lime zest, almonds,
hazelnuts and tobacco leaves on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Ron Welsh, Master Blender at Bowmore,
said: “A Bowmore as exquisite and complex as this 52 year old is testament to
the skills of our distillery team and their commitment to optimising the time
spent in cask to create such an incredible spirit. With ARC-52 the complexity of this single
malt is unquestionable and to achieve such perfect balance not only defines its
physical form but unites beautifully in every drop of this stunning
whisky. Working with Aston Martin
remains hugely rewarding and fascinating for me. It continues to inspire and show us a
different way of working, with absolute precision, and has allowed us to create
what, in my opinion, is the best Bowmore over 50 years old that I’ve ever
tasted.”
Limited to 100 decanters, Bowmore ARC-52 will be available
from September, through select specialist retailers, for a RRP of $75,000.
