GLENALLACHIE LAUNCHES NEW SINGLE CASK BOTTLINGS

The Speyside based GlenAllachie Distillery, has today announced the launch of three new UK exclusive single cask, single malt Scotch whiskies, alongside a distillery exclusive bottling for this year’s Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.

All four bottlings were created by Master Distiller, Billy Walker, who is renowned for his exceptional wood management and blending skills. Each cask was selected from an inventory spanning over 50,000 casks maturing within 16 on-site warehouses.

The four new bottlings are comprised of:

The GlenAllachie 2006 - 15 Year Old Spirit of Speyside Festival Exclusive (59.4% ABV) matured in a Bourbon barrel and first-fill Oloroso puncheon, then re-racked into an antique Oloroso Sherry butt previously used as part of an intricate solera system for 55 years. Available exclusively from The GlenAllachie distillery, during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival (April 7th – May 2nd) for a RRP of £175.00.

The GlenAllachie 2011 - 11 Year Old Premier Cru Classé barrique (59.9% ABV) matured in a cask previously used to mature premium first growth Bordeaux red wine. Available next month from specialist retailers in the UK, for a RRP of £100.00.

The GlenAllachie 2011 - 10 Year Old Port Hogshead (56.5% ABV) matured in a Tawny Port cask from Portugal. Available next month from specialist retailers in the UK, for a RRP of £95.00.

The GlenAllachie 2012 – 9 Year Old Peated Bourbon Barrel (60.1% ABV) matured in an ex-Bourbon barrel, which was used to age peated spirit distilled at The GlenAllachie distillery. Available next month from specialist retailers in the UK, for a RRP of £90.00.

Commenting on the news, Billy Walker, said: “At GlenAllachie, we are deeply passionate about sourcing unique and innovative casks, particularly from premium, niche producers. Each of these casks selected reflect this; from the French fine wine barrique to the antique Sherry butt which dates back to the middle of the 20th Century, each brings considerable character and charm to the table."

He went onto say: “We now look forward with great delight to welcoming whisky fans from across the world to our hidden gem for the Spirit of Speyside Festival, with these spectacular drams getting the limelight they deserve.”

The GlenAllachie Distillery, was named Visitor Attraction of the Year at the 2022 Icons of Whisky Awards.
