Diageo, has today announced the launch of its 2021 Special Releases Collection, which this year is said to transverse the world of whisky by reaching into the realms of augmented reality, to share the untold stories of the distilleries in new and unique ways.
This year’s ‘Legends Untold’ collection, is comprised of eight single malt Scotch whiskies, which were handpicked by Master Blender Dr Craig Wilson.

The Diageo 2021 Special Releases Collection, which is being released in limited quantities, is comprised of:
Mortlach 13 Year Old (55.9% ABV)
Singleton of Glendullan 19 Year Old (54.6% ABV)
Refill American oak casks, finished in cognac casks - RRP: £140.00
Talisker 8 Year Old (59.7% ABV)
Lagavulin 26 Year Old (44.2% ABV)
Lagavulin 12 Year Old (56.5% ABV)
Cardhu 14 Year Old (55.5% ABV)
Oban 12 Year Old (56.2% ABV)
Royal Lochnagar 16 Year Old (57.5% ABV)
Commenting on the launch, Dr Craig Wilson, said: “We have delved into the core characteristics of several classic distilleries, exploring the elements and reimagining the liquids for the Legends Untold collection. The mythical creatures of this year’s collection represent the true expressions of the distilleries. Taking inspiration from them, we have revealed new depths of flavour and embraced the essence of each of the whiskies unique flavour profiles revealing the legend it brings to life. This year’s collection is just the very beginning of the story.”
The Diageo 2021 Special Releases Collection, will be available from specialist retailers this autumn.
