The Tobermory Distillery, has today announced the launch of a new non-age-stated expression, from its Ledaig single malt Scotch whisky range.
Ledaig’s Sinclair Series Rioja Cask Finish (46.3% ABV) was
produced using heavily peated barley, then matured in ex-bourbon casks before
being finished in hand-selected Spanish Rioja casks for 18 months.

This latest release from the Isle of Mull based distillery, is said to pay tribute to the San Juan de Sicilia - an ill-fated Spanish Armada vessel which got into difficulties in the waters around Mull, which sank with a rumoured haul of gold.
The Sinclair Series, which celebrates Tobermory’s 220 year heritage and creative approach to distilling, is a tribute to John Sinclair who founded the distillery in 1798.
Tobermory has also announced the launch of a new Mountain gin (43.3% ABV) which has been infused with hand-selected botanicals from the Isle of Mull.
Commenting on the Ledaig’s Sinclair Series Rioja Cask Finish,
Julieann Fernandez, Master Blender at Tobermory Distillery, said: “Sitting
alongside Ledaig 10 and 18-year-old, the Sinclair Series Rioja Cask Finish is
inspired by Tobermory’s colourful past, nautical adventure and lost
treasure. The smoky yet sweet expression
is a fitting addition to the core Ledaig range, delivering the perfect marriage
of peated flavours with fruity rioja sweetness and spice. “
Ledaig’s Sinclair Series Rioja Cask Finish, will be available
later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £36.00. Tobermory
Mountain Gin, will be available later this month exclusively from Amazon, for a
RRP of £31.00.
