The Glen Moray Distillery, has today announced the launch of the first expression from a new limited-edition single malt Scotch whisky collection.
Glen Moray Warehouse 1 Collection Sauternes Cask Matured
(59.6% ABV) which was distilled and laid down to mature in 2006, was aged in total
of just five Sauternes wine casks.

This latest release from the Elgin based distillery, is the first in a new collection of eclectic, small batch releases, named in honour of Warehouse 1: the distillery’s blue-fronted dunnage warehouse where an assortment of interesting and innovative casks are tucked away, quietly maturing for future release.
Glen Moray Warehouse 1 Collection Sauternes Cask Matured, is
said to deliver notes of dark chocolate, espresso, rich toffee, sweet fruit,
oak and a gentle touch of spice on the nose. Followed by notes of dark
chocolate, coffee, salted caramel, rich oak, vanilla cream, sweet berries,
Seville orange and subtle spice on the palate.
Commenting on the news, Dr Kirstie McCallum, Glen Moray’s
Head of Whisky Creation, said: "We’re very proud to be releasing our Sauternes
Cask Matured expression in time for the festive season – and as the first
whisky in our new Warehouse 1 Collection. This is an absolute cracker of a
dram, and a perfect marriage of Glen Moray’s spirit with all the rich,
deliciously sweet flavours you would enjoy in a glass of Sauternes. It’s a real
celebration of flavour and Glen Moray’s passion for unusual cask maturation".
Limited to 1248 bottles, Glen Moray Warehouse 1 Collection
Sauternes Cask Matured, will be available later this month, exclusively from
specialist retailers in the UK, for a RRP of £79.95.
