This latest release from the Glasgow based distillery, which succeeds their Peated Release No.1 bottling, was produced using malted barley which was smoked with aromatic heather-rich peat from the Scottish Highlands.

Glasgow 1770 Peated Rich & Smoky, is said to deliver notes of sweet smoke, rich toffee, vibrant vanilla, dried dark fruits, cracked black peppercorn and flamed orange on the nose. Followed by notes of tobacco leaf, rich dark toffee and sweet soft peat on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Liam Hughes, CEO and Co-Founder of The Glasgow Distillery, said: “The response to our inaugural Glasgow 1770 Peated was phenomenal, with Peated Release No.1 picking up a host of prestigious awards such as Best Lowland Single Malt at the International Whisky Awards. After receiving such a fantastic response to our first smoky single malt, we have been working tirelessly to bring you something slightly different, but equally as impressive.”

He went onto say: “Our new expression has been laid to rest in virgin oak casks and finished in delicious Pedro Ximénez sherry hogsheads of the finest quality, giving the spirit not just a deeply delicious taste, but also an incredibly rich colour. We would like to encourage those who have tried our inaugural release to share their thoughts on our new peated release. We’d love consumers to taste both iterations side by side and let us know what they think.”

Glasgow 1770 Peated Rich & Smoky, is now available from the Glasgow Distillery website, for a RRP of £49.00.
