BALVENIE LAUNCHES THE SEVENTH BATCH OF ITS TUN 1509 BOTTLING

William Grant & Sons, has announced the launch of the seventh bottling in its Balvenie Tun 1509 series.

The Balvenie Tun 1509 - Batch 7 (52.4% ABV) which has been created by Balvenie’s Malt Master David Stewart MBE, was created by the marrying together of 21 unique casks in the Tun located in Warehouse 24 at the distillery.

The Balvenie Tun 1509 - Batch 7, which was created from whiskies matured in a combination of refill sherry butts, refill barrels and sherry hogsheads, spent three months marrying in Tun 1509 before being bottled.

This latest release from the Speyside based distillery, is said to deliver notes of oak, dried fruits, ground ginger and brown sugar on the nose. Followed by notes of pepper, candied orange peel, oak vanilla, golden syrup, honeycomb, toasted hazelnuts and nutmeg on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, David Stewart MBE said: “The Tun 1509 series has been hugely popular with whisky enthusiasts over the years and I'm in no doubt that this expression will receive a similar response. Batch 7 showcases this remarkable liquid resulting in a deep and rich Balvenie.”

The Balvenie Tun 1509 - Batch 7, is now available from selected specialist retailers, for a RRP of £300.00.
