TAMDHU LAUNCHES ITS FIFTH BATCH STRENGTH SERIES BOTTLING

Ian Macleod Distillers, has today announced the launch of the fifth edition of its multi award-winning Batch Strength series bottling, from its Tamdhu single malt Scotch whisky brand.

Tamdhu Batch Strength No. 005 (59.8% ABV) has been matured in Oloroso sherry seasoned casks from the bodegas of Jerez, Spain.

This latest Batch Strength bottling from the Speyside based distillery, is said to deliver notes of warm vanilla, cinnamon spice and roasted brazil nuts on the nose. Followed by notes of summer berries, rich double cream, citrus, oak and freshly-baked cookies on the palate.

Earlier this year, Tamdhu Batch Strength No. 004 enjoyed success at the World Whiskies Awards 2020 finals, where it scooped a ‘Gold’ award in the Scotch Speyside, No Age Statement category.

Commenting on the launch, Sandy McIntyre, Tamdhu Distillery Manager, said: “After a multi-award-winning year for No. 004, I know Batch Strength No.005 will impress everyone who samples it – with its complex richness, deep intensity and long, rewarding finish. This annual Tamdhu release always goes down well as it is a brilliant showcase of the beautiful colour and flavour derived from our exclusively sherry oak cask maturation process.” 

In addition to the new launch, Tamdhu has announced that it will be continue to donate £1 from the sale of each bottle purchased from tamdhu.com (and all other IMD websites) to the Drinks Trust and the Ben, to help their mission of providing care and support to hospitality colleagues during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tamdhu Batch Strength No. 005, is now available from the Tamdhu website, and from specialist retailers later this month, for a RRP of £79.99.
