DOUGLAS LAING LAUNCHES NEW BIG PEAT BOTTLING IN HONOUR OF LEGENDARY ISLAY ROAD

Scotch whisky specialist Douglas Laing & Co, has announced the launch of a new limited-edition, Big Peat Islay blended malt Scotch whisky bottling.

Big Peat 8 Years Old - A846 (46% ABV) which was bottled for Feis Ile 2020 (The Islay Festival of Music and Malt) honours the A846; Islay’s legendary road that takes thousands of whisky lovers from one glorious distillery to the next.

This latest Big Peat bottling, which is comprised of single malts from a number Islay distillery’s, is said to deliver notes of peat, smoked ham and a fresh seaside-saltiness on the nose. Followed by notes of peat, chewed leather, streaky bacon Madeira cake and rock salt on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Chris Leggat (CEO) said: “A journey along the A846 is a rite of passage for Islay Whisky lovers, and a road that carries countless memorable moments for many. Whilst Feis Ile – Islay’s annual festival – exists in an entirely different “virtual” form this year, we (and Big Peat) wanted to mark the occasion the best way we know how – with a particularly innovative limited edition, featuring a cracking story and spectacular spirit within”.

Limited to 500 cases globally, Big Peat 8 Years Old - A846, will be available later this month from specialist retailers for a RRP of £45.00.
