To mark his 43 years of service at the distillery, which started in 1977 when he became mashman, Glengoyne asked Duncan to hand-select one cask from the warehouses to be bottled under his own name.
Limited to 520 bottles, this latest limited release from the Highland based distillery, is said to deliver notes of red apples, rosehip syrup, vanilla fudge and candied lemons on the nose. Followed by notes of rich spicy oak, dark brown sugar, lemon marmalade and fresh pineapple on the palate.
Commenting on the launch, Duncan McNicoll, said: “While sad to be leaving the Glengoyne team, I have loved every minute of working here. It’s been such a massive part of my life, as well as my family’s. To be asked to personally select a cask for release is a true honour. Every single cask of whisky has its own character and flavour and no two are exactly the same, meaning this single cask release is entirely unique. With so many stunning drams to choose from it wasn’t easy picking a favourite, but I’m sure this one is a winner.”
Glengoyne – Duncan’s Dram, is now available directly from the Glengoyne Distillery and online shop, for a RRP of £189.00.
