JURA LAUNCHES THE FIRST EXPRESSION IN A NEW SERIES DEDICATED TO ITS ISLAND COMMUNITY

Whyte & Mackay, has announced the launch of the first expression in a new series from its Jura brand, which is dedicated to the members of its island based community.

Jura Two-One-Two (47.5% ABV) is a 13 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky, which was matured in American white oak and ex-bourbon barrels, before being finished in Chinkapin oak casks from the Ozark Mountain Range of Missouri.

This latest limited-edition expression, which is the first of five to be released annually, is said to deliver notes of lemon cake, cinnamon spice, creamy toffee, poached pear and sherbet on the nose. Followed by notes of nutmeg, ginseng, roast pistachios and Chinkapin oak on the palate.

Commenting on the launch, Kirsteen Beeston, Head of International Malts at Whyte and Mackay, said: “We talk about Jura being a long way from ordinary and this latest creation certainly supports this.  By celebrating the people who make up our community, we are not only acknowledging the fundamental role they each play in our whisky, we are also highlighting the vital role of community to the Jura brand.”

Limited to 6,000 bottles, Jura Two-One-Two, will be available later this month from specialist retailers, for a RRP of £90,00.
