THE MACALLAN LAUNCHES ITS LATEST EXCEPTIONAL SINGLE CASK BOTTLING

The Macallan, has announced the launch of the latest expression in its Exceptional Single Cask series, of single malt Scotch whiskies.

The Macallan Exceptional Single Cask 1950 (53.4% ABV) which is limited to 363 bottles, was distilled on November 5th 1950 and matured in an American first fill sherry butt cask.

The 1950’s represent a significant period in the history of The Macallan, with investment in the construction of new buildings on site and modernisation of existing buildings, the purchase of additional farmland and the first of The Macallan highland cows take residence on site.

The discovery of this first fill sherry butt cask, which is said to deliver an unmistakable combination of antique oak and subtle peach, with lingering peat, has been described as a very special moment for the whisky making team at the Speyside based distillery.

The Exceptional Single Cask series, showcases the depth and diversity of The Macallan. Each whisky revealing a particular character, a subtly different flavour or an aroma in the background making each one truly unique and never to be repeated.

The Macallan Exceptional Single Cask 1950, will be available later next month from selected specialist retailers, for a RRP of £44,600.
