TAMNAVULIN LAUNCHES NEW SINGLE MALT WHISKY EXPRESSION

Whyte & Mackay, has today announced the launch of a new non-age stated single malt Scotch whisky expression, from its Tamnavulin Distillery.

Tamnavulin Sherry Cask Edition (40% ABV) has been matured in American white oak barrels, before being finished in three types of Oloroso Sherry casks.

The team at the Speyside based distillery, sourced casks from three individual cooperages across Spain. Each of which was selected for its ability to deliver different flavours to this single malt.

This latest Tamnavulin release, is said to be warm and inviting, with exotic flavours of glazed nectarines and frangipane with a complex finish of fruit cake and over ripe apricots. Partnered with the signature sweet, smooth and mellow profile of Tamnavulin.

Built in 1966, the Tamnavulin Distillery (Gaelic for ‘mill on the hill’) was named after the historic woollen mill which still sits next to the distillery. After closing in 1995, it underwent a major refurbishment before it was re-opened in 2007. The first whisky from the newly opened distillery was launched in 2016.

Tamnavulin Sherry Cask Edition, is now available exclusively from Tesco, for a RRP of £45.00 – 1L. A 70cl version will be rolled out nationally later this year, for a RRP of £32.00.
