William Grant & Sons, has today announced a brand refresh for its Grant’s blended Scotch whisky range, which includes the launch of three new expressions and the renaming of its signature blend.

Grant's announces the launch of three new expressions as part of a major brand refresh

Launching later this month, Grant’s Triple Wood is said to be "a new way of communicating the superiority of the liquid through its whisky making process for a smooth, rich and mellow taste."

The use of wood plays an important role in the creation of Grant’s. Using the same formula for the last 130 years, 60% of its flavour is drawn from cask influence. Grant’s Triple Wood liquid is matured in three types of cask: Virgin Oak, American Oak and Refill Bourbon. Grant’s Triple Wood Smoky has the addition of peated whiskies added to the blend.

Grant’s Rum Cask Finish, is matured in oak barrels before ageing further in barrels that previously held rum. Grant’s 8 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish, is matured for 8 years in oak barrels, before it matures for a further period in Oloroso Sherry casks handpicked from Spain by Master Blender, Brian Kinsman.

Commenting on the news, Philip Gladman, Grant’s Chief Marketing Officer, said: “While other blended whiskies are declining, Grant’s continues to go from strength to strength, leapfrogging others to become the world’s number three Scotch whisky. As the whisky that holds the family name, we have big ambitions to be the most distinctive player in Scotch whisky and are proud to celebrate our Triple Wood maturation, the key to our exceptional taste, with a new global brand refresh.”

Grant's Triple Wood, Grant’s Triple Wood Smoky, Grant’s Rum Cask Finish and Grant’s 8 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish expression, will be available from the end of the month, for the respective RRP’s of £19,50, £19,00, £19,00 and (tbc).
